People who don't turn up for viewings
If I knew which house they were selling I'd do exactly the same to them and see how they feel. What's wrong with common courtesy? Why do I have to get up early, spend all morning running around making the house look like a showhome for some idiot who can't even give me enough time of day to make one lousy phonecall. My EA…

Are my estate agents rubbish?
I have had my flat marketed since the end of November and haven't had one viewing yet. I appreciate the time of year is slow etc, and willing to accept that's just how things are, but I'm not really sure what level of service I should receive from the agents (being a first-time seller). i thought they would ring me every…

Is this illegal?
Buyer offers us £170k for the house but has it appears he's applied for a mortgage for £195k. He wants to pay us £195k via solicitors etc. but then wants us to transfer £25k back to him. Why? What implications could this have on us? Is this legal? We sold the house privately so no estate agent was used. HELP!

I know this means it isn't sold as a bedroom but what work - either building or paperbased with the council - would I be likely to have to do to be allowed to call it a bedroom? Thank you

I am currently trying to buy my ex-partner out of our jointly owned home. However, we have come to a sticking point over how much his share is worth. Is there a site where you can estimate the cost of buying the freehold of a house. An friend told me that one of her friends locally paid the council £29,000 to acquire the freehold of her house (semi worth about 240k). MIL thinks her house is leasehold, held by council as ex-council house. We've told her to check if…
