Are there any Lilies which are not toxic to cats?
All parts of Lilies are apparently toxic to cats, and even a brush of pollen on the fur can be fatal. Do you know of any Lilies which are safe? I'd love to have some Lilium Regale or any othere which are safe.

Japanese Knotweed - one shoot!
My neighbour was watering my garden whilst I was away and has told me he has discovered Japanese Knotweed at the bottom. I had no idea what it looked like. I've phoned several companies and have had eye watering quotes, just to carry out a survey, and just one has said it was free and they are coming next week. Once I…

one branch of a tree dying
Just noticed that one branch of one of my plum trees appears to be dying. The other branches are proceeding as normal - ie plums forming. This branch, however, had leaves there and those very tiny starter plums. However, the little plum-lets have shrivelled and died and the leaves are shrivelled and brown. 1. Wondering why…

Is my tree dying?
I've been watching it waiting for leaves to appear from the buds and just noticed that one branch has leaves. I think it's an acer? I'm not sure whether the leaves should be that thin or whether it's another sign of an unhealthy tree. There's some lichen on it, and I spotted some aphids around the leaves - I've seen…

Makita petrol pole hedge trimmer?
My battery powered pole trimmer is getting tedious to use and I am helping elderly friends with more hedge than the battery one can manage, as well as my own hedges. I quite fancy a petrol pole trimmer, especially the 4 stroke Makita series. However, the manual says branch diameter of 7mm, various adverts mention 21.5mm. I…
