access to electricity meter cabinets - key required
Having searched the Green and Ethical forum I can find no reference to this problem but I'm sure some forum users have met it before. We have an electricity consumption monitor and, like all of them, it requires access to the leads out of the meter Sadly our house was built with meters in a box outside to which we don't…

Supermarket Milk - is it local?
Hi, for some time now I have been wondering how many miles my supermarket milk has travelled since it left the cow that produced it. I am keen to minimise the number of unnecessary miles travelled by produce that's heading for my table. Given that I am almost certainly going to be buying from the supermarket and not…

The government has announced the sites for huge offshore wind farms, that could supply up to 25% of our electricity needs. If these were on line today, during the biggest freeze for years, guess how much of a contribution they would be making. Here is a clue ******all.

How would I clean those jute/cotton or recycled shopping bags?
As part of my efforts to stop using carrier bags I want to buy some of the shops jute or cotton bags. Are You Doing 10:10? If So, What?
The 10:10 campaign is about ways for us all to reduce our carbon emissions by 10% in 2010. (I may have fudged the definition a bit, please correct me if so.) Have you heard of it, are you doing it, if so what are you doing? I think it's an aim that fits very well with the Old Style mindset if you look at the options and…
