Really unsure what section this should go in so feel free to move to either holidays aboroad/charities/wannadoit

HAs anyone had an experience of WWOOFING http://www.wwoof.org ?

I have been asking for help about volunteer trips but for families with young children but this seems like an interesting alternative?

Woofing is basically working for free on Organic FArms worldwide in return for board and food

  • We have not done WWoofing through the WOOF scheme, but have done a similar scheme, some of the hosts are on both sites Its https://www.helpx.net Same as WWOOF, you work for between 2 and 5 hours a day for food and board.

This is a similar scheme but has more variety of hosts, ie they are not all organic farms, some are on small holdings, campsites etc.

You can view the basic details for free and its 18 pound to join for two years to read the contact details, full info etc.

We have done it in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Our hosts who do both seem to prefer the helpx, but maybe they are being nice!
