I have just received my order from the Catalogue company called La Redoute, for a long-sleeve top and was thrilled to see that it had a Fairtrade Cotton label in it. It does say Fairtrade cotton in the description, but I had missed that at the time. See picture and details here (if link works).…

Recycaling Paper
I dont like to leave paper out to be recycled, as i dont want any of my details stolen, so my neighbour usually burns the stuff for me and uses it in the garden. Is this a good idea, or would i be better investing in a very good shredder?

Central heating question - how to use it best
I work at home (9am-3pm) and shut myself in my little office during the day where I find I don't need any additional heating apart from that given out by my computer - and myself of course + an extra jumper and a blanket over my knees. The central heating comes on for 2 hours in the morning whilst we are all waking up and…

Can someone clarify if I should wash the rubbish that I put in the recycling bin ? ! I'm on a water meter so fanatical about saving water - I haven't been washing out drinks bottles etc that go in the recycling bin, but my mum was horrified and told me she washes everything that goes in the recycling bin. I just…

Dryer Balls - (merged with Poundland offer)
 Anyone used the drying balls that you put in the tumble dryer? On the instructions it says to use on your normal setting. But then claims to reduce drying time by upto25%. If this is so surely instead of putting on 1hr drying time you should decrease it to 45mins. Has anyone any idea how much electricity cost to…

If you are interested in Carbon offsetting, the Government is publishing a Gold standard that few offset schemes meet. However Ebico, who a number of MSE'ers use for their Gas and Electricity meet the standard with their Equiclimate product. http://www.ebico.co.uk/en/open/pages/pressen.php

Hooray my Onya bag has come
I am thrilled with this item. Thanks to all who gave me ideas on where to get it. I went to our local farm shop today and got two large caulis, 6 cooking apples and 8 sausages in it - loads of room to spare and I had my hands free before the shop because it was hanging from my belt loop with my keys!!! I love it, love it,…

Current Cheapest supplier of Ecover Products?
Hi I am really trying to keep the shopping bill costs down and am wondering where's the cheapest place to buy Ecover products. I do my shopping at Asda but am going to join Costco to buy all the staple stuff and continue with Asda for fresh produce for now. I am sure Asda's not the cheapest place for Ecover so if anyone…

Lidl Have gone Organic!
I couldn't find a thread on this already so apologies if I missed it. I was in Lidl the other day and about 30% of their fruit and veg was organic! It was as generous a section as the Tescos which is about 5 times the size just down the road. My only concern is with how bad a shelf life Lidls fresh can have is that you…
