Smart meter faulty??
Hi, I deal with my Father in laws switching. I was just about to do a switch when I noticed that his gas bill was really high. In fact it was double mine, I have my heating on thermostat 24/7, gas hob, baths and loads of hot water used. He has a gas hob and gas heating, very rarely has his heating on and even then it's…

Eon DD price rise - Cheap Energy Club
Hi. Just had a monthly DD increase to our Eon dual fuel bill from £131 pm to £224 pm - we have a small 3 bedroom house. It's a killer. This "sudden" increase has arisen since we had the smart meter installed just before lockdown, but then it didn't work nor take reading until just recently again. Eon said this was a…

Dual Fuel - very large payments query

We're coming to the end of our current contract with Avro who were taking just under £160 per month from us. After 11 months of the 12 month contract we're currently £350 in credit and this is after already receiving a £224…

Hi all. My partner just moved flat. Same development, similar size (1 bed), just nicer and more modern. Hi all Thought I’d post my experience..... i switched using switchcraft in Autumn 2020 to Neon Energy from BG. This is where my problems started! Neon increased my bills and never responded to my emails, instant chats and letters. Luckily I wasn’t in a contract so switched again to Green energy. Midway through the switch…

Energy provider not sending bills, not using smart meters
My Mum is with Scottish Power. She saw on her bill mention of a cheaper tariff. It seems she has insisted on switching to it. She now gets no paper bills, and does not use the internet. They also stopped using her smart meters and she has difficulty reading the meters to provide readings. I'm concerned that estimated…

Avro Energy
Through the Cheap Energy Club I recently changed suppliers from Avro to People's Energy. All went well with the switch, apart from difficulty getting a refund of credit that Avro held. The switch took place on 15th April and I only got my refund today - 8 weeks after the switch. They have adhered to Ofgem guidelines -…

Is this reasonable? No bills due to non validated opening reading
Hi, I was a Yorkshire Energy customer who was transferred to SP at the end of last year. I instigated a switch away as soon as my details appeared on the register, and this was set for 21st January. I submitted my meter reading to the new supplier a few days before the transfer date as requested by them, and the closing…

There is an interesting article in yesterday’s Daily Telegraph (paywalled) about Bulb Energy. If the quote from Ofgem is to be believed, the company has faced a difficult few months.
