Uswitch miscalculation?
As part of having a renewed look at what consumption I'd have to maintain at night to make an E7 electricity tariff work, I fed some figures into uSwitch, but I'm getting a very weird result for Bristol Energy that just seems plain wrong. I emailed uSwitch about it last week but no reply. Using current tariff, Pure Planet…

Economy 7 ?
Can someone tell me if it is cheaper to have economy 7 for both gas and electric or "normal" supply? 1 person in household and work normal 9 to 5 so no need to use gas and electric overnight.

Spark Energy - Final Bill
Hi, After some advice with Spark Energy, was with them from April 2018 to April 2019. I gave a meter reading when I moved into property which i have a photo of on phone. In April 2019 I switched to Bulb and submitted meter readings on the switch date. Shortly after I received my final bill from Spark for £695. I instantly…

British Gas charging exit fee during cooling off period.
I recently purchased my first home. I completed on the purchase on 03/05/2019, moved into the property on 06/05/2019 and contacted British Gas (the current supplier) on 09/05/2019 to put the gas and electric in my name. I understood on the 09/05 that I had entered a contract. I did this by telephone and thought I'd got a…

EON smart meters
I am with EON and i had a letter telling me my meter is out of date and must be replaced!!!! We contact the installers to arrange for them to install our "out of date" meter and they tell us, "oh no you can't have a new meter, you have solar panels" which yes we have solar panels. So the meter can't be that pout of date!…

Back bill issue
I am with E.ON and they have been estimating my gas and electricity usage for past 8 years or so. Our flat has 2 adults and 1 toddler. Billing was c£130 per month for direct debit until November 2018. In November we gave them an actual usage. This was considerably higher than their estimate and as a result they sent a bill…

Smart meters
I am due to move to a new energy provider. EDF have advised they will install a v2 meter, but British gas confirm if will be a v1 or v2. Is it the case that different providers still install v1 meters or would British Gas be a v2 also?

New property, no electricity bill.
Hi, I have purchased a flat and I have not received an electricity bill, I have been in contact with the major suppliers and they do not know either as they acted confused on the phone. They did ask what serial number was on the meter and if its this *****- they will create an account for me to pay. I am unable to gain…

Unregistered Electricity Meter
To put it simply... I have moved into a property that has an unregistered electricity meter (I'm the owner) and decided to let UK Power Networks know and try to get it swapped for a normal credit meter with a new supplier. I have started the whole process in December, I'm still battling with British Gas (apparently they…

Switching Energy Suppliers while not at home
Evening all! My tariff with Scottish Power is ending next month and the ML Cheap Energy Club has suggested I switch to Eon. I'm only living in the property at the weekends at the moment as I'm working away from home - do I need to be in the house for the switchover, either for visits or meter readings? Thanks in advance…

Suppliers installing smart meters for new customers
Moved into a new property which has a strange setup. Oil central heating, so only an electric meter, in a very awkward place. An economy 7 meter, coming on Spark Energy's default tariff of about 23p/kWh daytime rate. Given the oil heating, we use very minimal electricity during the night. To sort out this mess, it would…

EDF - Complaint

Random cheque from Eon
Hello Yesterday Eon sent me a cheque for £70 apologising for an issue and saying the cheque was for an agreed amount but I have no idea what it's for. Is this something across the board for all customers? We did have to call them out a couple of months ago regarding the gas meter as they may need to replace but this is…

Energylinx not paying the promised cashback. Beware!!!
In March I switched suppliers through Energylinx. I had not used them before, but they were recommended by a member. Their results were not different from others but since they offered a slightly higher cashback I decided to go through them. That was a mistake. I have been claiming my cashback since then and have not…

Debt on energy account
Hi all I'm with Lumo for gas and electric and have a smart meter with them. I pay my bills by direct debit. I recently tried to switch energy supplier to save money and was informed that the switch had been stopped due to an accumulated debt of over £500!!! This is the second time this has happened, a while back I was with…

Landlord won’t install separate metres.
Hi. I’m hoping this is in the right place. I rent a flat on top of a restaurant. The whole property only has one electric metre and one water metre. The whole property is owned by one person. We’re in a bit of a standoff at the moment regarding the bills. The man who runs the restaurant wants to split the bills 60/40 with…

Switching energy supplier
Hi I have a question. Last month, I switched energy supplier from Eon to Scottish Power. Scottish Power gave eon readings and I had £610 in credit with Eon tied up. After scottish power gave the readings to Eon, I discovered I only got a cheque for £155. I'm confused by this and it doesn't sound right as I paid £120 last…
