£200 British Gas Bill??
I moved into a new flat last month and I submitted my readings to British Gas and set up an account. Now I've got a bill of £200...which seems very high for a 1 bed flat that I live in with just my partner. I also noticed that my British gas account had put my evening reading (I'm on economy 7) as 9999 instead of 964 that…

British gas credit accounts - why?
Why does British Gas set up not one but two credit accounts. In other words the same as credit cards. I am sure Eon did not do this.

MSE Cheap Energy Club
Hi, I'm currently on the CEC BG Collective Fix February 2017. Clearly that deal Is coming to an end soon so I'd like to ask whether the CEC has any plans to set up another Collective auction in the foreseeable future that I should look out for - or should I just scour the market for whatever 'good' deals may be currently…

Blown Gas Smart Meter
We watch your programme all the time, we love it, I'm getting the feeling that you are failing to inform people of issues when switching suppliers for Gas and Electric For 3 years we were with EON, after the second year they told us that by replacing the meters to smart meters it would save us money. We did. They fitted us…

Renationalisation of Energy
What are your views on renationalisation of the industry? The annual scrabble for 'best' deals is underway when it seems to me that there's a fag paper between what the Big 6 cyclically offer and smaller companies, with limited bulk purchase clout, offer probably unsustainable offers. Should we as consumers be subject to…

Moving supplier - in-home display stops working
After confidently telling others that if they move supplier the smart meter connection with the new supplier will no longer work, but the connection to the in-home display will carry on, I now have a red face. I moved away from British Gas and now my new supply is live the in-home display unit is useless. It shows a…

My problem Alpha CB28 boiler is still limping along. I've been told in this forum that the expansion valve may need replacing, for which I need a Corgi registered engineer. With a modern extension and would think and hope, pretty well insulated. New house has a boiler and GCH, has a gas hob and an…

Avro
Compliments of the season one and all, I am currently on an EDF dual fuel tariff that ends Jan 17. Although I pay £88 pm DD, I see that there is around £200+ credit. I'm not overly concerned since EDF are a big company and unlikely to go under. For a new tariff, I have been hitting the comparison sites, and AVRO always…

Storage heater or small electric heater? Best tariff?
I spent some time in my new flat (still waiting for furniture to arrive) and looked at the heating options there, and what electricity tariff is running. I don't know what the tariff is called or whether the displayed tariff is with VAT but the PAYG meter key reads Scottish Power, and displays the following tariffs: 16.73…
