OSO Unvented Water Heater- how to use economically?

Hi, I have a OSO unvented water heater Direct 20RD (170L) in my apartment. We are currently on the SSE 3 year fixed price V2 tariff for electricity if this makes any difference.
It's connected up to a Horseman E7 Quarts timer (can't post pictures unfortunately as new user)
Could anyone advise how is best to use the heater and timer together to run economically? At the moment we are just leaving it on 24/7, and the off peak light comes on for 4 hours between 15:00 and 19:00 so we have hot water when we come home from work.
I have asked the landlord how to operate the heater and timer but he didn't know unfortunately. We will be using it to heat hot water for two adults, 2 showers and maybe a small bath each day.
Thanks in advance.
