Switching Suppliers - Cooling Off Period
I have just started the process again of switching suppliers. Mainly because E.on have adopted the policy of only offering the best value tariffs to new customers and I expect that the best tariff they offer when our fixed tariff ends will be a lot more expensive. One point to take notice of when switching, if you are…

My daughter is a student and gave a final reading for gas and electricity back in June.on moving out. On this reading the company gave a refund on the account. They have now sent her another bill 4 months later stating that she now owes them money even though they refunded her on her final reading. Can they do this?

Illegal Warrant of Entry by First Utility. Help
First Utility, through their debt recovery agent Fidelite, recently turned up at my doorstep to request payment (£2250) or install PPM. Advised them I had already set-up a payment arrangement with FU. They said we hadn't. They contacted FU on my doorstep with 2 engineers hanging about, as did I, and FU advised the agent to…

Time to go for a new fixed deal?
I'm currently with GB Energy, on a fixed, no-penalty-for-leaving, dual fuel deal and I'm happy with it. But now that oil is going up, i'm wondering if it's a good time to switch, although it might be to a slightly more expensive deal. What do people think?

EDF go quiet - check it!
As someone who prided herself on having her finger on the money saving pulse I am embarrassed to find I have been quietly shafted by EDF and didn't notice. My fault I know but be warned to keep your eye on EDF. They are sneaky, and I fell for it. In early May 16 I had a bill which told me they were lowering my direct debit…

Business electricity for flat hallway lighting?
Hi, The building I live in is owned by the owners of each of the flats through a building management company. The electricity for the hallway lighting (3 lightbulbs, using around 8 units a year) is coming from a business supply and is currently costing us around £200 a year, which if you work it out per unit is completely…

Trying to switch to E.ON
I've been supplied with gas/electric by EDF since March. In June, I had credit meters fitted. My attempt to switch to E.ON's Home Saver V1 tariff failed and, after much to-ing and fro-ing, it has finally transpired that this was due to the national database showing that I still had prepayment meters. After the database has…

Struggling to properly evaluate energy costs
We bought our first house in November, and started our utlities then so they are due to change soon hence me looking into new deals, but we didn't move in until May due to the renovation work taking a long time. As such, I'm finding it very difficult to accurately work out our energy usage, as I only have our summer…

Electricity reselling - 40p/unit is ridiculous no??
I live on a boat in st peter's marina in newcastle (just in case anyone is trying to google their prices) and have just got first bill back. It's obscene. It works out at 40p per unit which the internet thinks is ridiculous. I've brought this up with them and just got the reply that this is how much they pay, so this is…

Replacing Potterton 'Neataheat' boiler?
Advice please, our Potterton 'Neataheat' boiler is now 40 years old, we have never had any issues with it but feel it will not obviously last much longer. What do people recommend we should replace it with? if indeed that is the course of action we should be following? Any advice appreciated, thank you.
