New MSE Collective switch?
Anyone know if there are plans for a collective switch from MSE as a lot of people are coming towards the end of the Sainsburys Energy Feb 2016 Fixed deal obtained through MSE. Thanks

When switching, need I use the same bank?
Looking at switching providers, do I need to use the same bank account for the direct debit? I'd prefer to have the company I switch to come out of a different account, but not if it complicates the switching process (and more importantly, the £30 cashback from the energysavingclub!) Thanks

Solar Panels - who owns them?
I purchased a house with solar panels fitted - I have never had any info about them. I was having some work done on the roof recently and the workman suggested they may need to be removed. He asked who owned them and I had to confess I have no idea. I realise now this is something I should have looked into, but wonder if…

"credit" issue - advice needed
I'm with first utility. I've been with them since 2013. For the past 18 months they have taken money (£88) from my bank account and placed in my energy account. In October 2015 it seemed I had around £1800 credit. I called them and asked for this back. The law states that if a service provider hasn't taken payment for the…

Scottish Power Final Bill
I switched away from Scottish Power in October and have just received my credit refund but I believe that I'm short. I did a back of the envelope calculation with opening and closing readings (actual) and dates using the rates on my closing bill and it looks like my refund is about £90 short. I was on a few different…

energy certificate lies about window type?
I rent my home from gentoo in sunderland, so i'm assuming i can't do anything about this, but can gentoo? they say my home won't be "modernized" until 2020 but anyway... the problem i'm finding boils down to my single pane windows with plastic frames letting in the cold, cooling my home down massively and with the weather…

British gas declined me a credit meter
Hi, I moved into my new flat in September 2015 which already had a prepay meter. After trying to live with it, it finally got too much with our busy lives trying to keep ontop of topping up between myself and my partner. Also, the fact that we are paying considerably more on pre-pay is very frustrating. I applied to change…

Inaccurate information for tariffs
Hi, I am currently looking for better deals as my current Ovo contract is about to mature next month and the charges are going up. I have checked several comparison websites and I found out that they differ in the figures for the same providers and identical deals. That includes this website. To make an easy and more…

GBEnergy - E-Mails.
I have a single energy supply switch which is due to go through tomorrow (the 10th). As I have not received an e-mail request for a meter reading, I called GBEnergy to check that my switching date had not been delayed. 'No' was the answer. When I questioned the lack of an e-mail asking for a meter reading the response was…

Ovo's smart meter reader
Ovo's smart meter reader came to read the smart meter today. I asked him how frequently Ovo sends a meter reader to a smart meter premises. He told me "twice a year". I think that Ovo must lack confidence in its electronically communicated readings.

Oxyvent?
Has anyone heard of this? Got a cold call yesterday trying to get me to have a no obligation visit to survey my system and explain how the system would save 40% of my heating bills. Google doesn't turn up much but it looks like an expensive gimmick to me, so I declined their kind offer.

Calorific value of gas supplied, can it be right?
My supplier's bill fro just under three months calculates the calorific value of the gas supplied as 31.63, whereas normally it would be around 39. How is that possible, and might they realise an error and cheekily try to revise the bill once I've paid?

New House
I am moving into my first house soon and I am unsure how I go about setting up for gas and electricity. Do I just find a good deal and phone from there? The house also has the prepayment metre for electric and I would prefer to pay this monthly direct debit. How do I go about setting all this up? Do I need to know the…

After an hour or so of tinkering, he explained that the Nest was incompatible with my boiler, suggested I return it and left. A couple of minutes later, he sent the…

Collective Energy Fix Dec 2016
If you took part in the collective switch to BG please read below and check your first invoice from BG as they could be charging you at their very high standard rate for some or all of your energy usage. I operate my sisters energy accounts on line for her and having just input her meter readings on the BG website,…
