Ovo's smart meter reader came to read the smart meter today. I asked him how frequently Ovo sends a meter reader to a smart meter premises. He told me "twice a year".
I think that Ovo must lack confidence in its electronically communicated readings.

I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

When smarts are installed we have a look at them once or twice, I suppose just as a check as a backup to it communicating properly . I do a few reads for Ovo on their smart prepays. We are never told anything about frequency of reads with any suppliers. Maybe the reader was just referring to his normal dumb meter visits with Ovo . My smarts with BG are a few years old now and I have nt had a visit so far0

Thank you, sacsquacco. An encouraging post as always. Ovo after having installed the external aerial has been able to take correct remote measurements three times over, so perhaps the meter readings will be reduced to once every couple of years.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon.
