Calorific value of gas supplied, can it be right?

My supplier's bill fro just under three months calculates the calorific value of the gas supplied as 31.63, whereas normally it would be around 39.

How is that possible, and might they realise an error and cheekily try to revise the bill once I've paid?

Comments

  • It's almost certainly incorrect.

It don't see revising the bill as particularly cheeky - people have the right to chase outstanding debts (which this would be) for 6 years in the UK. That goes for large companies, sole traders and everything in between.

Gas passing through the National Grid pipeline system has a CV of 37.5 MJ/m3 to 43.0 MJ/m3
    so most definitely incorrect.

As my OP was for info and opinion only, the matter of the supplier seems irrelevant, :), and before I should take any action I shall re-verify my data.

Having recalculated, I see I made a silly error, brought about by dealing with two short period on-line bills.:o

    Sorry guys and thanks.

It might have some water in it since a few years ago, OFGEM ended the requirement to monitor water vapour in distributed natural gas.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
