Cheap LED bulbs

Hi all

Just moved into a new house and every single bulb is a good old fashioned incandescent. I can just feel the money rolling out the door...

I need a lot of led bulbs - does anybody know if any discounted places to buy them?

We bought 10 x 5 watt small screw from Home Bargains at around £3 each. 5 of these in the living room are OK. So far in 6 months we ve had one blow. I ve noticed last week B and M selling then even cheaper. The warm white are best for living rooms, white are starker and ok for kitchens. 3 watt Leds are not bright enough in my opinion .

I have been using these bulbs for what is coming up to two years now and I don't have a single regret about them.

I bought some from China and they were half the wattage that was advertised and they weren't a patch on the above bulbs I've linked to.

Try LED connection, have some good wholesale and discounted stuff if you're buying in bulk

Poundland have a few, (fairly obviously at one pound), e.g:-

Have you tried Screwfix or Toolstation - the price of LED lamps is beginning to come down to more reasonable levels

My parents have halogen spotlights. If they bought these LEDs i take it their transformer would need changing or do the LED bulbs have built in converters?

I ve just watched Big Clive tear apart and analyse the Poundland Led s and he was surprised at how well made they were especially the 3 watt bayonets..At a quid a pop I ll have to have a try myself. Poundlands normal 100 watt bayonets I bought barely lasted a week ! I ve also bought 3 of Poppellerants ebay 10 watters in bayonet. At last I can get some proper instant light back where I dont have to wait a week for the energy bulbs to brighten up.
