NPower delaying bill investigation - not heard anything in 2 months, still paying!
Hi all, Hope someone has some advice on how to proceed. I moved out of a private rented flat June 2013, electric only. I unfortunately spent a great deal of my tenancy in hospital, meaning I was unable to take interim meter readings. I had the initial meter readings from my letting agency, who use a 3rd party to check the…

eon confusion
Hey all, My eon DD has been £175 p/m since as long as I can remember mostly to clear a large debit. Last June my annual statement said that we were £265, much less than previously, in debit therefore they would increase my DD to £185 p/m I checked using my online account and they have a 'direct debit manager' which shows…

New meter and old use
Hi all, would be grateful for some advice. After providing a meter reading, utility co said it was the same as that provided in August 2012 - to cut a long story short, my meter has stopped - no idea why. Utility co have said they will come and fit a new meter, but I'm a bit worried as they've said they'll take a "Back…

My Electricity Bill is now £230pm HELP!!!
I have noticed my electricity bill with Scottish Power slowly creep up over the last year but it has now gotten completely out of control. I am on their 'Online discounted Energy tariff Oct 2013' and stay in a semi-rural area that doesn't have the option to use gas. My heating system is a Redring wet central heating on an…

Fix ending soon, should I refix now?
Hi - Apologies if this is already covered elsewhere on the site. I'm new to the forum and finding the size of some of the threads and the sheer number of them rather overwhelming. I'm on the cheap energy club, and near the end of my fix. The current fix beats anything currently available through cheap energy club, and I've…

Scottish Power Bill HELP
Hi I am new to the forum so please be gentle :) Following tips on prepay duel fuel we took the plunge and switched suppliers as Scottish power was one of the most expensive in the area. Anyway the switch over happened on 29th July and today I have received a bill for over £200 for the electric and £84 for the gas. Now I…

EDF Credit reimbursment ?
I am in the process of switching from EDF to Npower and I think that I am in credit with EDF by £240. I have had a meter reading for Gas & Electricity and have just paid EDF my normal Direct Debit. I have not yet received a date for the Npower Direct Debit to be taken from my bank account. Do I have to apply to EDF for a…

Scottish power - old cashback offer
HI there, I know I'm an idiot for not paying better attention - but I switched to Scottish power a while ago when there was a £60 cashback offer. I haven't received anything yet - and wondered if anyone else remembered the deal or took it up? Will deof pay more attention next time - no point taking up an offer if I have no…

Lamest switching excuse ever
I'm in the process of switching. On 30th July the new supplier, EdF, emailed me "Please provide your gas and electricity meter readings any time between 30 July 2013 - 5 August 2013". So I did, that very day. A fortnight later my old supplier asked me for readings. When I checked with them they said that I was still with…

Economy 7 tariff with SP?
Hi, I have an econ 7 meter and have had for many years now. In the past, I have always been on a tariff using this but I don't use a lot of elect at night. I've tried to do washing late at night etc but this means staying up. Last year whilst with npower, I was told by an advisor that as I didn't use sufficient electric…

EON "Revised" Bill
Hi guys - looking for some advice on this. I've phoned Eon a few times but nothing seems to be getting done. I made my final bill payment on 07/05/2013. I provided my final meter readings on this date which were 40319. (I have picture evidence of this from almost the date I moved out - 19/03/2013) The account was now fully…

Impossible To Contact Scottish Power
I have an issue with my account at Scottish Power and really need to speak to someone about it. At the moment, I am trying to contact them using the contact form on the website. I have entered the account number exactly as it is shown on my bill. It is impossible to enter spaces, etc. because you only get 11 characters, no…

Npower direct debit discount
We've recently applied to join Npower on their fixed Feb 2015 tariff, and there seems to be differing information on how the direct debit discount is applied. On one part of their website it states that customers joining after 22/07/13, that the DD discount is applied on a daily basis - however according to the contract,…

What is reasonable compensation for utility company harrassment - advice required
I've previously documented our problems with npower over on thread #62748344 "nPower problem with safety inspection - advice required" (sorry as a newbie I can't post links). The advice was very helpful and so we thought we'd ask this question too, in the hope that the problem will, one day, be sorted. What is a reasonable…

Anyway to set a minimum date for a supplier change?
Im in a fixed length electric contract at the moment which is ending in 6 weeks and has a £30 penalty for leaving early. I'm keen to sign up to a new fixed price contract as soon as possible as rates are going up again. Is there any way to sign up with a new supplier and specify when the contract mustn't start before ?

Atlantic - Energy Prices
Atlantic customers will have received a letter recently from Atlantic. It states that your current deal with Atlantic will end. At present if you pay by direct debit the 'deal' includes 1 months gas and electric payments being rebated every 12 months - e.g. Direct Debit for gas at £100 per month, Electricity at £50 per…

Cheap Energy club wrong?
I know my gas and electric annual usage and have been using that to compare tariffs. MSE energy club says I am best staying with Sainsburys and will be £118 worse off by going to M&S but both Uswitch and Gocompare say I will save £166! I am confused to say the least and wonder who is right? Any one else had this problem?

NPower - confusing bills
In April I received a bill saying I was £284.80 in debit to Npower. After discussion on the phone we came to an agreement where I would pay £80 off the debt and start to pay £73 per month and I would ring in July with up to date meter readings and see where we were in terms of balance. During those few days they took out…
