Cheap Energy club wrong?

I know my gas and electric annual usage and have been using that to compare tariffs.
MSE energy club says I am best staying with Sainsburys and will be £118 worse off by going to M&S but both Uswitch and Gocompare say I will save £166!
I am confused to say the least and wonder who is right?
Any one else had this problem?

No, you need to check the figures used are your actual consumptionPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Do the arithmetic yourself on the tariffs. It's pretty simple once you have your annual kWh usage. Then you'll be able to show which is right and which is wrong.

Could you supply the following information please?
1. The actual anticipated annual usage values you input?
2. The exact Sainsburys tariff you are curently on.
Only with this additional information can anyone else hope to see how the error is being introduced0 -
Would not trust Sainsburys, very clever lot - hardly. They have never done a meter reading at mine, not even when I changed to them last year. They have estimated every bill yet claim to be able to forecast how much electricity I will use in the coming year! Now that's what I call gestimation! They arranged a meter reading for July and no one turned up. I am a disabled pensioner coming up to 70 and told them I was not able to get steps to climb up and read the meter. Recon they are thumbing their nose at me! Grrrr!
British Gas run Sainsburys Energy, would not have changed to them had I known as the came up with a bill of £450 when I left them some years back - queried it but they were adamant - sure it was not true. Had divorced previous year and used far less being on my own, I checked meter on a daily basis and used around 10 units per day. Watch out for them using an estimation based on previous years use, they don't tell you that they do this, wish I had known then would have put up a fight about the amount they claimed I owed. Obviously estimating on use by 2 people, not one careful user! I have always checked my daily use but now can't. Would not knowingly use British Gas!
I don't cook with electric, I use bottle gas, don't heat with electric, don't do hot water with electric only the kettle. Use washing machine once a month and wash by hand after soaking in cold soapy water at other times. Use pantry in winter fridge and freezer in summer, have all low energy bulbs. Would think my computer uses a bit will have to check that out as had a new one last year! Sainsburys put me in medium usage band, £51 a month! Would be up in the 100's if I cooked, heated and washed with electricity. Hot water bottle in winter, won't turn on electric blanket.
Good luck with your energy bills people, watch the energy providers you choose and check your meter reading daily if you can so that you know how much you use and if the use goes up when you have a appliance on that gobbles up energy! Kind regards.0 -
Hi, my prices have gone up yet CEC has not told me and is no longer the cheapest. I only happened to find this out by checking my tariff with energyhelpline after I had got a letter from first utility saying prices were rising.
Upon looking deeper it seems that the name of my tariff has changed which is why the CEC is wrong. Can't this sort of thing be fed into the CEC so this does not happen? I was relying on the CEC to alert me to cheaper prices!0 -

Which supplier is that that has recently increased their prices?
If the name of your tariff has changed, then it sounds more like an existing tariff you were on has now ended. Why don't you update your details in CEC accordingly? Didn't the supplier contact you before they switched your tariff??? :huh:0
