How long to wait for final bill after switching?
Hi, We are on standard tariff and pay quarterly with cash. We switched from Npower to Eon with gas. I gave Eon the final reading on 28th September, and got a letter from them saying they had officially taken over our gas on the 30th. The thing is we haven't had the final bill from npower yet. Should it have come by now or…

Prepayment - Electric & Gas
Just moved into a rental property with British Gas providing electric and gas on prepayment cards/keys. Their website is slow and getting through to them on the phone is a bit of a mare, and when I did the person didn't know what the answer was to my question, so I thought I'd try here... What I'd like to know is if there…

Scottish Power - which tariff?
Hiy, I'm currently with Scottish Power Dual Fuel Online energy saver 11. I have recently checked a few comparison sites and SP seems to be the best option. They currently have two tariffs I'm interested in. 1. Online Energy Saver 16 - savings £88. 2. Online Fixed Price Energy January 2013 - savings £84. Which tariff would…

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. We recently moved into a new house with an old style gas boiler, central heating, hot water tank system. Pay as you use tariffs
Are there any competitive tariffs where you can 'pay as you use', ie. non-budget scheme tariffs, or does that option rule out getting the very cheapest deal?

How to estimate consumption in a very large building
Hia, Here's a challenge for ya! I've been googling the hell out of this but it doesn't seem to be easy... I need to estimate how much electricity the following building might use: - A former college with 8 floors (including G floor), approximately 10 classrooms (so large spaces) on each floor, plus one large communal…

Scottish Power Cannot/Will-not change final meter reading from estimated value.
I've recently left Scottish Power. On the date of switch-over I gave both electricity and gas meter readings to my new supplier (nPower) online. Scottish Power then sent me my final electricity bill (calculated with the reading I gave my new supplier) - which I paid. A month or so later SP sent me a final gas bill - using…

USwitch - Eon Energy Fit
This tariff is already very confusing. USwitch show discounts for gas and electricity of 8.33%. Under features it also shows the so called 2 months of 'free 'energy. It therefore appears that both of these features are present, when in reality they are one of the same thing. There are no DD discounts on this tariff.

When the EDF energy assist scheme ends next year...
... any idea what's going to happen? I'm quite worried. At present it gives a 15% discount on the standard rate, meaning it is their lowest possible rate. When it goes will mean a 15% rise on top of the other fuel hikes we all get. I know they are offering a £120 rebate, but some already qualifying for the energy assist…

Cheapest supplier and prepay meters
With the recent price rises in Gas and Electricity as you all well know, I started getting told off by store assistants whenever I went to get credit on my Gas. In my flat, I'm on prepay meters for both Gas and Electric, so I've got a card for gas, and key for the other. The card was issued by SSE, however, I'm registered…

Am i being Dim or are Atlantic taking the mick ?!
Morning I tried to call Atlantic this morning but gave up after 13 minutes on hold, plus I realised it may be a good idea to get an impartial opinion on my problem! In July , as a `loyal` Atlantic customer , I am due a rebate of DD payments for both Gas and Electric , we always have to call and ask for it mind you , not in…

Heating idea, wondering if it's worth it.
Hi all. I bought a portable airconditioner unit during the hot summer so that I could cool my bedroom down during the ridiculously hot nights. I would put the exhaust duct out of the window and block up the gaps with pillows etc. to prevent the hot air from coming back in. This worked beautifully. I did notice that the hot…

Heating System advice.
My head is hurting from trawling through the internet on this one. We need a new heating system. Gas - No gas in road LPG/Oil - to expensive to run Solid fuel burner - expensive to put in and we don't want to be stoking the fire every few hours! Electric boiler - quote of £6500 for this and new rads. Am I better off…
