Cheapest supplier and prepay meters

With the recent price rises in Gas and Electricity as you all well know, I started getting told off by store assistants whenever I went to get credit on my Gas.
In my flat, I'm on prepay meters for both Gas and Electric, so I've got a card for gas, and key for the other.
The card was issued by SSE, however, I'm registered through Ebico for both energy.
Here is a brief story.
I was initially with NPower for the first few months. My credit on both supplies kept vanishing in large lumps on a regular basis. Gas more than electricity.
For gas, £1.50 kept vanishing per week, with a sudden £10 vanishing once a month. For electricity it was £2.50 per week. Upon doing research, these were charges for being on prepay instead of other forms like debit etc.
So I went looking for another supplier. I then remembered a friend saying that he was on Ebico, so after a bit of research, I applied for a transfer to them.
Despite the gas card and electric key supplied directly from SSE, I'm charged Ebico rates. No weekly or monthly charges, and the unit rates are lower than other suppliers, or even SSE directly.
Since then, my credit on both gas and electricity go down slowly. Apart from during winter when I have to put the heating on.
Every so often I keep checking for cheaper suppliers through the guides on MSE, but none come close to Ebico.
Everytime I go out and about and get collared by highstreet salesman on behalf of one of the big energy suppliers (usually E.ON and British Gas) I keep making them say rude words whenever I tell them I'm with Ebico, because they can't beat them in cheapness.
There is one other thing. My boiler is maintained through my council housing group which has partnered with GMT. So I don't have to pay for any boiler insurance etc. Therefore, I don't know if it would be cheaper to get a package deal for the energy supplier and boiler covers, or to stick with Ebico and get a 3rd party cover for my boiler.
So all-in-all, what I'm saying is, if you're like me and get your equipment maintained by your council, then Ebico would be the best supplier for you.
