Solar Panels - are they worth it? (not the free ones)
I have had contact with 2 firms after we enquired about have solar panel fitted to our West facing roof. The first Squaredeal Solar qouted just over £10K for a 16 Panel system and claimed it would pay for itself in 8 years. The other firm is SolarKing but we had to cancel the salesman twice due to my work commitments, but…

Switch from one Eon product to another within contract?
Hi folks, I've pretty much decided that I'm going to stay with Eon when my Fixonline 8 comes to an end on 1st July. I've had the letter through from Eon saying that they will automatically transfer me to EnergyOnline. I'm thinking that I'm going to opt for the Fixed Price 5 which is a two year deal. I'm not sure if I have…

Unfortunately, my flat has white meter heating, so, as i understand it, you pay a standard rate price (which will go up and down with the hikes) and cannot fix your prices. Am i wrong in this? Also, i enquired with Scottishpower about changing to Economy 7 as i wanted to take a fixed deal with them or another provider and…

advice?
Following the price hike by scottish power i am slightly confused as to what i should do. We are currently with SP and pay £770 annually. Having done a comparison search we could cap with EDF until sept 2012 for £771. I have looked at capping with scottish power and it would cost ££864, but this would be until June 2013.…

THTC tariff - cannot change provider?
I have been trying to change providers in the past and always got rejected, but never a clear explanation why. I live in the North of Scotland and have night storage heaters and am on a Total Heating Total Control tariff which means the cheap electricity comes on during the day if temperatures plummet. I am with Scottish…

Cutting my gas use by 19%
I'm not with SP but it's only a matter of time before my supplier hikes up their prices by an inflation-shattering 19% or more. So I thought I'd get ahead of their game and gain some ideas here on NOT handing over more of my hard earned to line the pockets of the fat-cat directors holidaying on some distant tropical…
