Bamboozled by Scottish Power
I'm currently on the online saver tariff with Scottish power paying a monthly direct debit and am at a complete loss with my latest bill. I received my first quarters bill as normal at the end of March and as expected was in debit a small amount due to the cold winter. Since mid march the heating has practically been off…

EDF bill rip-off
Just had my gas bill off EDF. They made a big deal about not raising their prices till after the winter unlike most others - prices went up on 2 March. My bill covers the period early Feb till late May (nearly 4 months, for some reason). It has an actual reading at the start and at the end, and an estimated reading on 2…

Is entering meter readings early With Scottish Power a big mistake?
Hi I notice I get charged about 18p for the Primary kWh electric and then 7p a kWh secondary after that so is it cheaper to not send your meter readings to early and get more 7p kWh? I compared two bills and worked out an average of 10p kWh on one and 11.3p kWh on another with the 11.3 kWh bill being for a shorter time…

Npower massive bill
So on the 10th of May I received my quarterly bill from npower for electric - £874.25. I live in a 1 bedroom flat with economy7 heating so everything is electric but surely this is a crazy amount? To make it worse my partner has recently lost his job and therefore its just my wages coming in. They want us to pay £155 a…

Scottish Power queries
On my latest bill from SP it says that we could save £100 a year if we went to a PAYG meter. Surely this is wrong ? I thought the meters were dear? We are on the standard tariff, paying cash when the quarterly bill comes in. Also I \note the prompt payers discount last time was £11 on a £70 bill, and this one is £4.30!!…

Confused
I have just started shopping around as my tariff ends soon. I'm ashamed to say I don't understand the comparison site results. They are all the same and tell me that I will make a saving of £-199 for the top result. Does this mean I make no saving at all? Last year I fixed with EON for just one year, surely by going onto…

No refund of deposit from British Gas for cancelled boiler installation
Is anyone else having difficulty in getting their deposit back from British Gas for a cancelled boiler installation? £500 was taken from our account on 13 May for a boiler that we subsequently decided against ordering. British Gas assured us that the deposit would be returned within 7 days but here we are on 26 May and no…

British Gas confusion...
Hi. I'm on Websaver 7 which is ending on July 1st. I need to switch or I end up on the standard tariff, but I'm unsure which one is best or whether to switch suppliers altogether. I did a price comparison on Uswitch and a couple of others but they all said I was on the best price with WS7. According to the BG themselves I…

Call out charge problem
Hi, About two weeks ago our heating went off, I ended calling the gas company who sent an engineer. Before they sent the engineer, they told me that if the fault was on the premises, there might be a small call out charge. To cut a long story short, it turns out that the fault was on the premises and I ended up fixing it…

Scottish power vs Scottish hydro
I was approached by Scottish hydro salesman and he convinced to switch (with couple discount vouchers). Before that I was on Scottish power online plan. Of course the salesman did not mention that there is £50 leaving fee for Scottish power! So I got a phonecall from Scottish power 'win back' team and the chap was telling…
