Billing Farce
Hi All, I am currently getting my electric and gas via nPower. I have had problems since April 2008 when I discovered that our economy 7 meter's time clock was not correct, thus we were being billed incorrectly. I immediately gave nPower the latest readings and requested the meter be either fixed or changed. It took until…

When is Economy 7 worth it?
Apologies in advance, I'm sure the answer is probably on here but I just can't find it.... I'm sorting out my Mum & Dad's fuel provider as NPower have just hiked their payments up massively. They currently have an economy 7 meter, but their night time usage is only about 27%. Is it worth them staying on economy 7…

Hi to all in the forums I live in a 2 bedroom flat, which still has an old combi back boiler, ( potterton 401 ) I have read many things on these boards which say leave it alone unless it breaks. Granted I am not very fond of the fifestone fireplace that a preivious owner had put in for the fire that is here, but I get the…

High gas useage
Hi I live in a three bedroomed bungalow. There is usually only one person in the house, so only one bedroom is heated. The gas boiler is about 20 years old and heats the water as well as the heating. I have worked out how much gas we have used in the last year and it is just under 28,000 kwh. This seems very high and eon…

does this sound a lot for monthly fuel bill
Hi there we pay Scottish Power £190.50 per month for gas and electric by direct debit. We have a 4 bed detached with no double glazing but I'm quite careful with heating etc. It breaks down as just over half as much for electricity as gas. We have central heating and gas hob and that's it - 0h and gas for the hot water. We…

meter readers. It is too simple to get wrong!!! Isn`t it?
My gas meter is on the floor and I at 62 have to get on my knees with a torch so that I get the correct readings. I do it every week so I keep good track of energy usage The gas reader last week input a reading 200 units higher ie he mis-read 6 as 8. Doesn`t SP teach these people to get to eye level and to use a torch? I…

Billed twice, what should I do?
Hi, I moved into a new flat in march of this year. It is rented from the local council. Now, it turns out that the council switch energy suppliers when a flat is vacated, I assume they get some kind of kickback from the energy supplier, in this case Southern Electric for doing it. However, I had spoken to nPower a couple…

Do you owe 500Quid to NPower
Hi I believe this company is letting people purposely pay less money each month than would pay their bill. This way after three months you owe them that much money you cannot switch supplier(usually 500Quid). They then contact you and ask you to up your payments which you do only to find out three months later you still…

Southern Electric Moneysavers Vouchers
Having recently switched to Southern Electric they have supplied a booklet called Moneysavers. It apparently provides access to discounts of up to 10% from such major retailers as House of Fraser, PC World, M & S. Major catch seems to be that £100 vouchers must be bought as minimum. Has anyone any experience of this?

Hi, I moved from Npower to British Gas as I was offered a better deal on the tarrifs. All went smoothly until I had a final bill from Npower - £600 as it is the winter bill, so I decided to stay with Npower as over the summer, this will even out and I will be straight by the Autumn (otherwise I would need to find £600 fast…
