If it's an estimate you should have corrected it with EDF. If they have a warrant granted they will be adding charges on to the amount owed. The company may request a statement with a breakdown of income and expenditure from you to set the weekly recovery rate as just because you are claiming benefits you may still be able to pay more than the lower rate.

You need to contact them to discuss the outcome especially if you wrote to the court to dispute it. They may also be able to advise a date for fitting the meter if it has been granted.

Warrants run from 8am to 4pm mon-fri. most suppliers do not give notice other than what you have had already, befor they fit a prepayment meter your meter will be read for a final read, If it is over estimated by a long way you may not actually owe anything! If they do come on a warrant all warrant costs are chargable to yourself (usually a couple of hundred pounds) added to the debt.

They will not need access to anything other than the meter. As long as you are at home and let them in you should have no problems. Remember that they will know nothing of your situation so don't take it out on them.

One piece of advice is to make sure you write down your meter serial number and reading before it is removed and also the same for the ingoing meter just in case this info gets lost.

They will show you the Warrant but I do not know if you get given it. You just need to make sure your gas appliances are all switched off.

You will be shown the warrant and normally left a copy & information sheet. The warrant will give them access to the metering and associated works. However to enable them to replace the meter (not just remove) you will have to give them access to any gas appliances that may require testing as a direct result of the meter change.

They will have the right to remove the old credit meter, the replacement will be by your permission, obviously if you don't give them permission then you ain't getting anymore gas!

Always read the warrant before letting them in, it must always be shown to an occupier unless it has attached to it a 'entry by force' element, or police are present and entry is required to save life & limb or property.
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

Did you read the meter before it was removed.
Did you get a card from them with the meter read on it, were they the same.
Have you taken the new meter read.
Does the old meter read compare with the bill you received recently.
