scottish power billing error ??
Hi needing some info just had my grandad in for a visit there he was talking about he had switched over to n-power for his gas this month and had recieved a final bill in from scottish power for £750!, he has a payment card which he pays £32 per week to... how can he possibly be due them this amount of money he lives on his own in a 2 bedroom house ive told him to go and take a meter reading tomorrow and then again next saturday so i can get a rough idea of what hes using before i contact them ..... but am i right in thinking there was a billing error by scottish power a while ago to alot of there customers, could this be what this bill is ....??

You need to look at the bill - is the meter reading accurate. Your grandad should have supplied the closing reading - could it have been misread? Reading the meter this week isn't going to tell you much as he probably doesn't have any heating on.
I agree it seems a lot - paying £140+ a month should have covered his use, unless this was a recent arrangement and he started with a debit balance. Check all bills and look at the meter readings.0
