Another Scottish Power Fixed Price Energy (Sep 2009) tariff?
Has SP introduced another new fixed tariff? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/money/consumer_affairs/article4595902.ece At first, I thought the article was in error and referred to the now defunct 'Fixed Price Energy 2009' tariff. But uswitch.com also refers to a SP tariff called 'Fixed Price Energy online'. The rates…

EON Prompt Payment Discount & IGT Charge
Hello, on my first bill from from EON I read about 3% prompt payment discount, when paying within 14 days. Although my bill (gas & electricty) was above 100 pounds, the discount was lower than 3 pounds. The customer support agreed immediately that this wrong and promised to issue a new bill. Second bill did only contain a…

Quick question regarding prepayment meter refunds when moving house
OK so here's the situation. I'm with Ebico, the cheapest for prepayment customers - their prices are linked to SSE, whose prices are going up sharply tomorrow, so I plan to go out and buy a whole load of credit today to avoid the increase - effectively purchase my own capped price plan. My problem is that I may move out in…

Hi all, I'm sure this has been answered before, but I can't find it on the forums. So here goes anyway. We've just bought a house, and we're due to complete in just under two weeks. Boiler Service - Another Rip-off by British Gas
I just booked my annual boiler service with British Gas and had to book the usual half day appointment, annoying as per usual. They then tried to sell me a 'new service' where they can give me a 2-hour appointment slot for a mere £3 per month extra. Seriously, this is something they should be offering as standard. I…

Switching to a supplier whose rates have already risen - catch?
I see that Martin's current advice is NOT to switch tariff or provider until the current round of price rises has completed. Being with Southern Electric at the moment, I ran a comparison on Confused.com in the aftermath of their recent price rise announcement. It told me that I could get a capped rate with Scottish &…
