Hi all, just looking for a little advice about DLA. I sent off forms in December, they wrote to say they received them on the 16th. Has anyone experience this. As my husband and I need a break from each other. My husband does not need around the clock care but just needs some help in the morning with his exercises and to put a glove on and might need some help with an evening meal. Help writing a letter of complaint
Unfortunately, I had to stop at some Motorway Services the other day. I encountered a couple of problems: 1 - the automatic door wasn't working, the other doors were all shut. They were heavy doors and there were no staff around. 2 - The disabled toilets required a radar key, but I couldn't find any staff to allow me…

Exercise dvds
Mam has arthritis in her spine which prevents her bending down too much. She has been advised by her doctor to exercise a little more, but I am struggling to find dvds that avoid bending etc. I have found some for disabilities, but they tend to be sitting down ones. She can stand no problem (at the mo touch wood!), so…

Motability aids
It may seem a stupid question (or not), but are there any websites where you can see what aids you can use to help you do whatever task? A few years ago we (mam and I) walked into a mobility shop at the metro centre, and asked a "stupid" question - is there anything to help putting socks on without bending too much? Of…

Family Fund
Hi all I recently asked the family fund for help with getting a small chest freezer for my son's food. He's 4 years old and cannot tolerate crumbly or lumpy foods so we have to blend all his meals. Basically I was only ever able to cook a little bit of food in advance for him as there just isn't enough room in our normal…

Available extra benefits on DLA??
Hi all, My son gets DLA for his ADHD, we have just found out (by chance) that we can get a CEA Card (Cinema Card) to allow the carer in for free. From peoples experiences what other benefits can we get to make the pennies go a little bit further?? We are on child tax and working tax credits + carers. Many thanks in advance
