Any advice please. On MRC ,HRM dla . Renewal July 09. Have got renewal form and almost finished filling in . With all this hue and cry about dla wonder if they will try to take it off me this time as only got it on appeal 3 years ago, condition worse if anything. My question is , if I send DLA 1A now and they decide to knock me back will they do it before renewal date as 5 months to go still.Any advice appreciated. Fos

Hello Fos,

I would suggest you get your renewal in as soon as you are ready.

Have you sought advice from Welfare Rights, part of your county council, the CAB, or Dial?
These can all check through your forms, and make sure that you have filled in everything correctly.
Try and make sure you have plenty of supporting evidence.
It's not about taking away something you are entitled to, and as before you sometimes have to go to appeal and tribunal, so it does pay to persevere.
I don't believe they will stop the award with 5 months to go, as the current award does not finish till July 09, and if it is turned down, the remainder will run while you proceed to the next stages.

Seek advice, make sure everything is included, and expressed in the correct manner.
There does seem to be a delay in dealing with claims at the moment, so send it in, keep a copy, and try to forget it for a while,

If you canget someone who knows about these forms to fill it in for you. My MS Nurse did mine, and I got it straight away.
The CAB are very helpful too. And don't forget to PHOTOCOPY every page before you send it in, they have a habit of losing claims!

I had my renewel form early and filled it in and sent it back before it was due for renewel in sept 2008. They didnt stop my payments til after sept 2008 when i asked them why my dla was different to the last one they had reduced my mobility to low rate from high. After i asked them to look at it again they took everything away:mad: .I have appealed and have not had a date for tribunal yet and have had nothing for 6 months!!!!. Do get advise from either cab or A4U before doing anything. Hope this helpsxxxx
