New benefit
Are we all going to be forced to work? I don't understand it all tbh. I personally can't cope with normal day to day living most of the time, but occasionally I can do things that inevitably I end up paying for healthwise later. I don't want to be forced into working and making myself even worse healthwise.…

disability buss pass
hi, i have heard a whisper that people who get middle/high rate care dla are entitled to a free bus pass? I thought it was for people who received high rate mobility dla. I know in Scotland middle care qualifies, but am not sure of England. Any ideas? (not that i get to go on the bus much, but it would be good to know!)

Chair-lifts
Around 12 months ago I bought a straight chair-lift from a mobility shop. It has worked perfectly, thank goodness, but recent comments in another thread has led me to think of maintenance. No maintenance agreement was offered, the installer said it was guaranteed for 12 months and he would come out if needed. Do other…

Two Ticks
Hello, I have recently applied for a job with the NHS. It is a job I am more than capable of doing and I thought I submitted a bl00dy good application form. I gave examples of my experiences and my job knowledge and I have 17 years experience doing the same thing. I really did think I'd be in with a chance of an interview.…

dla questions (and poor thanatos!)
i thought i would post here, rather than on the dla sticky. If someone asks a question re dla on thanatos's sticky - are other people allowed to answer, or is that purely for thanatos? I ask, as i have noticed a couple of questions which i am sure a few other people would be able to help - purely from their own experience…

Benefits advisors...
seems that there is a reoccurring theme that people are struggling to know where to get benefits advice from or who to turn to when things go wrong. As benefits agency staff may often be poorly informed (or deliberatly unhelpful) it seems like alot of people would find a list of agencies which provide independant benefts…

Stair lift
My mother needs a stair lift and I wonder if you can advise on the cheapest way to buy/fund one. She had one installed by MacMillan but now the cost is £500 per year which she cannot afford.
