New benefit

Are we all going to be forced to work? I don't understand it all tbh. I personally can't cope with normal day to day living most of the time, but occasionally I can do things that inevitably I end up paying for healthwise later.

I don't want to be forced into working and making myself even worse healthwise.

Anyone got any pearls of wisdom?
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

  • Do you get dla? I personally have decided to not claim any means tested benefits for me so that i don't have to worry about it all. I am living on the money i get for my daughter. Yes it is less money but hopefully i will feel better about myself as a person. I think the esa is going to be harder but if you are currently on ib you won't be affected yet.

Yes I get IB and DLA.

I know that I'll not be affected yet, but I'm really confussed by it all it doesn't really help that the government have a knack or messing things up time and time again though, lol

  • You won't have to look for work if they decide that you are unable to work, same as now..

But existing IB claimants won't be affected until at least 2010, more likely 2012.

I think this is correct -please someone correct me if it is not.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
