Is there ever 'not enough money' to pay down debt and start saving?
I really want to get all my financial affairs in order, but it feels impossible when there's practically no money coming in, and so much going out. Is it ever a hopeless cause? I'm a single parent to a 4 year old. I no longer work due to disability, but don't get any disability benefits as I'm no good at the interviews for…

Hi All, I think I posted in the Autumn of 2020 so thought it was time I recorded my progress: My credit card debt is now £9.2K across 2 interest free cards; it was £29K at the start of 2020. I was planning for July-2021 for the final card payment but a purchase a £5K computer has put me back a few months. So hopefully…

Hi Martin - do you have any advice to help me approach Credit Card companies to get at least some of my Credit Card debt written off? Not sure where to start - advice needed please!
So, last month I lost my main source of income due to redundancy (with a weeks redundancy pay) and now I'm wondering how to make it through the next month without adding too much to my existing debt. I do have a small side hustle that pays circa £500 a month, but there really isn't any room to expand that and make more…

What small DFW things will you do this week 03/05/21?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Good Afternoon, An account I had with Lloyds defaulted and was passed to Moorcroft a few years ago. Hi guys. I sent a letter by recorded delivery to Moorcroft, requesting a copy of the CCA and attaching a £1 PO. I have confirmation this was signed for by Moorcroft and they have now written to me. Their letter states they will not comply with the request as I did not send £1 for this. I am 100% certain it was enclosed, in…

Keeping statute barred debt alive
Hi, I recall hearing a rumour sometime back that debt recovery companies have a way of alerting credit companies and credit reporting agencies that someone has a statute barred debt. They will conduct audits and credit checks in a specific pattern, like once every 30 days, then 45 days and keep repeating this. It sounds…
