Unaffordable lending claim help please

Hi...I took out a loan with NatWest after I got myself into debt and wanted the loan to help pay my credit cards as I was maxed out and no longer enjoying low interest rates.  This loan was the last credit I took out.  Within months I fell into difficulty and ended up defaulting on all my cards and loan.  I turned to stepchange who set up a DMP.  My question is how do I raise a complaint for unaffordable lending?  Can I complain to credit card companies or only my NatWest loan?  Thank you

Who do you think was irresponsible in lending you money and why?

That will give you the answer.

I am very much in the learning phase of trying to get out of debt so would really appreciate your help.

I don't know if I can make these claims to credit card providers or only my loan account?

I wAs drowning in the debt.  It made me unwell, I was prescribed anxiety medication and then turned to stepchange.

    Thank you

Start with the credit cards. What were your circumstances that means they should not have given you the card you applied for?

Ideally Stepchange should have been your first port of call, thus avoiding the loan altogether.

Unaffordable lending complaints usually only apply to high interest, short term borrowing.

However, if you feel adequate checks were not done in respect to your loan application, then by all means submit a complaint.

What would have happened had you not taken the loan; how would you have been better off?

It's not that straightforward as posters are trying to find out what the basis for your claim is.
If you are determined to claim then start with the credit cards first but you will need to be able to articulate why you think the credit card companies are liable for giving you roo much credit.

It’s not a claim, you make a complaint.

Debt Camel website, as advised above, is the place to start.
