What small DFW things will you do this week 03/05/21?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Hi @ziggy2407!
Thanks for starting the thread, I couldn't find a new one and didn't feel like I was the right person to start it off!
I have managed to meal prep for the next 4 days in work using some yellow sticker items I picked up today!I have also paid towards all CC and Loans as I've sorted payment plans with them all.
It's also very very rainy here! It's not stopped all day!I don't mind though it's making me more focused to get things done around the house. Although, both my cats want to go out.. no chance!!
Sale of the house is being a pain, person whos buying is going via a different lender now which means the house has to be valued again!! Luckily, the whole situation has made me realise with or without the money from the house, I can pay off all my debts. Hopefully by March next year! Marbles is nearly paid off at £136.28.
Hope all had a nice weekend!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Have managed to check budget spreadsheet today as well as complete £3 worth of prolific surveys.
First month trying NSD’s so let’s hope I can have a good few of those, will help put some pennies away

Evening allThanks for starting the thread Ziggy - I noticed earlier that nobody had, and came on here to do it, but you already had@jadewest94 seriously, anyone can start the thread, so if nobody else has already done so, feel free!Dog did a decent walk this morning, one of his 'old' routes (ie before his surgery), so that feels like a step forwardWe spent most of the day sanding down the filler I had used on the cracks and gaps in the conservatory walls, and then painting it. It took 2 coats, but done now. It will need some touching up as a little bit of electrical work and a plasterboard repair is needed, but the bulk of it is fine now. Sounds really strange to be painting a new conservatory, but it is a lean to, with 2.5 solid walls, 2 of which needed painting. The other 0.5 wall is exposed stonework with glass above. Still sounds odd! We used white emulsion paint that we found in the garage, so no spends needed there. It looks fresh and clean. Also read the meters and entered the readings on the energy company's web site, and made dinner from food we already had in.The weather is awful here, really strong winds, cold and heavy rain.Found out that our next door neighbour is poorly with covid
Really rotten luck, as there are hardly any cases round here. It is one of the areas where infection rates have been among the lowest in the country, and even less now. Apparently her husband caught it at work and she caught it off him, even though he didn't have any symptoms (he had been sent home from work, along with 3 others, to self isolate after positive tests). Hope she will be ok. She is only about 38 and has 2 young children. Wonder if there will be a cluster of cases locally after that, as quite a few people work at the local factory where he seems to have picked it up, the children have been in school and the parents have been out and about, on the school run, shopping and socialising a bit, though always outside and not breaking the rules. Really horrible for them.

Morning folks!
@ziggy2407 - thanks for starting us off. Sorry you had a pants day last week. I know what you mean about rowing. OH and I never row but we had a couple during lockdown. And all over nothing!
@jadewest94 - yep we don't stand on ceremony here, feel free to start the thread if need be. Just copy and paste the intro text into the first post
@DawnW - great news on your little dog but I hope your neighbour feels better soon.
@jack_1992 - nice to have you with us
Same old same old here although we did drive over to Leeds on Sunday to see my two best friends. Being outside and keeping apart was a bit wierd but it was nice to see them. We started talking about terribly grown-up things like dormer extensions which was sad as it reminded me of a: how close to 40 we are and b: the fact that buying a house seems so far away for me now and they both own.
In other news though, OH has applied for a job! A proper full time one. The salary isn't amazing (although double what he currently earns teaching and gigging) but it's with a local prestiious music venue to assist with their learning program. The job might not be overly interesting in itself but could lead to other opportunities. It seems like an admin role, but it's an advantage if you can read music? Seems a job that might be fluid based on your abilities.
Will have the morning work call at 9 and see if they have any work for me. I also need to go to the bank to pay in a cheque that came from the administrators. Apparently my old work owed me about £150 so that will pay for our little weekend away.
In very small things, I have taken the tops off the bunched carrots and hung them to dry so I can use them like parsley. OH will do the hoovering and I'll try to motivate myself to clean the bathrooms.
Have a good one all

Hi just checking in for this week, did large shops on weekend so am hoping for just a small top up for the next week and a half or so. My asthma is really kicking up and I can't work out why so am just feeling incredibly tired a lot of the time.
Today my plan is to relax, do some yoga, some catch up writing for work and sort out the garden after wind yesterday. And walk dog. I am off sick, so won't do too much.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Evening everyone! And thanks for starting a new thread.
Back for another week - braving myself to go back to work after a week's worth of rest and leave. Here are my small DFW:- I have actually started a spreadsheet - monthly outgoings and savings goals.
- The two extra shifts that I worked for last week are all going straight to my savings. Maybe top-up my monthly CC contribution for that matter.
- Also about to start prepping some of my meals at work. Worth a try!

Morning folks
Ooooff slept through 9 hours last night so I must have needed it. Feel a bit groggy today but I'm sure that I'll wake up with the judcious application of coffee.
Just had the morning work call and they are making noises to the effect that I'll be flat out for the net 2-3 months. Well, we'll see! Last time they said that it all came to nothing!
Small things today:Try to keep the heating off! We were so cold yesterday it had to go on. In May! In my defence it was HAILING outside!
Do the budget sheet with OH and allocate his grant money which came in yesterday - done
Speak to HMRC to try to work out why they think I owe National Insurance - done. They can't say until I submit my SA so have done that
Try to finish another knitted square for this blimming blanket
OH working
Washing out on the line - it should be mostly dry today - apart from the violent hail!
Eat heathily and generally look after myself
Have a good one all
