Financial Abuse & Coercive Control - Can I get Credit Card Debt written off?

Hi Martin - do you have any advice to help me approach Credit Card companies to get at least some of my Credit Card debt written off? I was with a coercive controller, who slowly but surely exhausted my financial means, including my credit, to the tune of over 70k. I am now with Stepchange and paying it off very slowly, but it will be with me for the rest of my life. Is this something covered under the new Bank Code of Practice?

Not unless you flagged to the banks at the time that you were a vulnerable customer and they failed to take action to stop you increasing your debt.
Have the card companies now suspended interest as you are with Stepchange?
Have you reviewed all your options with regard to the debt?0 -
