Halifax default

London2018

A debt company have bought my Halifax credit card debt but Halifax have not removed their default from my credit file.
Seeing as they are no longer the data controller can they keep the default on my credit file? As I now have two entries for the same debt on my file.
Any help would be appreciated

You have defaulted on a debt that was (at the time) owned by Halifax.
It will not be removed
You don't get a second one from the company who have bought it.0 -
The Halifax entry should show the date of default, and a zero balance.
The debt purchasing companies entry should also show the same date of default, plus the outstanding balance.
There are two entries, but both for the same default, all perfectly above board, and both will disappear on the 6th anniversary.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
