Sunday 3rd January - what small Debt Free Wannabe things will you do today?!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym . But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Let's start at the very beginning........
Hello everyone and welcome to 2016. I'm newly single (after a 10 year relationship), have clinical depression, am a full time carer for my deaf son and am £12k in debt. A combination of a badly wired brain, ignorance and procrastination has finally brought me to the forum for some moral support. So........where to begin?

CCA help
I'd really appreciate some advise. The shock of it all has subsided and we've decided to cca all our creditors just so we have the paperwork. Our largest debts are across 2 mbna cards taken out sometime in the early 90's. The balance now are a mishmash of balance transfers and spending. It's a whopping £25000 worth.…

CCA request - 8 months on nothing.....
I made a CCA request to a company back in May 2015. They wrote in August acknowledging my request stating they could not provide it and would not chase collection (which they haven't) The amount in question is £7,777 so no small amount so I can't for one minute imagine they will simply do nothing.... The default date was…

Using up 'old' beer?
Hiya, I have some Hobgoblin beer, in one of those eight pinter kegs, that was opened on 29th December. Husband says it's ' not very nice now' (actually said that on 31st) so I was wondering whether to use it up in beef and ale stew (would be making tomoz) Obviously I don't want to throw good money after bad so would you…

Separating a joint DMP
I am in a joint DMP with my husband. For various reasons im considering splitting this. How would it work? With joint debts specifically? I assume I could just ring them and explain that I want to go it alone, provide my income and share of the expenses and then make the payment. But our main creditor is a very big joint…

Statute barred?
I have a debt with Lowell which I have always disputed, it defaulted on 25/12/2009 and I wrote to them to ask for details of the account to prove it etc. They have sent me a print out with payments on and the last payment I made was 28/05/2009. Can I send them the statue barred letter? I need this off my credit report too 😡

How to reduce food bill?
We owe some money. We earn a bit. Blah, blah, blah. I've been here before years ago. Last time we paid off double the debt with only half the income so I'm not too worried. Looking at our SOA, the things I struggle mostly with is our food bill. What are your tips for reducing it? Bear in mind my kids are dairy intolerant…

Wonga - Cleared my balance...can I ask for them to remove the Default?
I am hoping someone can help me. That great lending service called Wonga, admitted it shouldn't have lent to me and so cleared the balance of my outstanding loan. This was some months ago. I have just looked at my credit score and there is a default on the Wonga loan. Would it be too much to ask them to remove it? If so do…

Timeshare fees

Money management/tracking software
Hi, For the past year I have been using my own Excel spreadsheet to budget. This has been very basic income v bills, but it hasn't captured where the other living expenses have been.
