CCJ expired!

Hello first time of posting and hoping for help..
My CCJ expired in November 2015 however I am still paying £50 a month to clear the remainder which is fine but i have no idea how much of the debt is left!
Is there a way i can find out what the outstanding balance or even what the initial claim was for?
I did think i kept the paperwork but after hunting i can not find it anywhere? I dont think i have been informed of who the debt has gone to either?
I tried to look on the credit score companies and could not find it have then gone on to read it clears it straight off there as soon as the 6 years is up.
Any advice would be appreciated
KInd regards
Hayley

Hi,
CCJ`s don't expire, or become statute barred, it may of fallen off your file, but it still exists, until paid off.
You have two choices :
(1) Contact the court where the judgement was granted, see if they can shed any light on who the creditor was.
(2) Stop paying the £50 a month, and see who, if anyone, writes to you about it.
Option (2) may work the best, as courts don't keep details of judgements indefinitely.
If the creditor does write to you, you can then request a full statement of account, outstanding balance, etc, but you need to "attract" there attention, your only way of doing this is to (temporarily) cease payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
