Hi,
For the past year I have been using my own Excel spreadsheet to budget. This has been very basic income v bills, but it hasn't captured where the other living expenses have been.
I have previously used My Money which means that I have to input all my banking details. This does show everything (except cash payments unless you manage to capture them)
Is there an easier solution?
I have also tried to update my SOA, again I need to know where everything goes. Although we've been on a DMP, I've often found what the budget says isn't always what gets spent. I want to be as accurate as possible so we can start saving.
Any advice is welcome.

I am in a similar position on a DMP but wanting a tighter rein on spending. I have started the free trial of YNAB and thus far think its brilliant! It could become my new hobby. Worth giving the free trial a go, you have nothing to lose.:)

MS Oney s still the best tool but not for everyone.
YNAB has a lot of fans and support but they are still developing and changing/charging where MSMONEY is mature and does the things you need for money management and is FREE.
instant/on-line/apps access is a nice to have.
(use proper delete on your duplicate posts)
With MSMoney create a cash account and track the spend categories in that, with the automated inputs from the budget/regular payments in MS money most stuff just get put in when needed and there is very little manual updating/reconciling each week/month.

I have deleted duplicate post now....but when it happened, the delete option wasn't working - as Sourcrates said, the forum seemed to be playing up / having glitches in the middle of the nightDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

I did look at YNAB - but wasn't too sure about it. Equally I don't want to pay for something that I can get for free elsewhere.getmore4less wrote: »MS Money is still the best tool but not for everyone....

I am thinking about re-installed MS Money, as much as it is time consuming it is a programme I am familiar with, if there is an easier way I would love to know.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
