Any Dave Ramsey fans here?
I listen to Dave Ramsey show podcasts daily. I never listened to him when I was trying to get out of debt, it's a recent discovery. He's a very hard hitting debt councillor on the radio who doesn't take excuses off people. And is great to listen to. Basically he has these babysteps to getting debt free and wealthy: 1.Build…

Student flatmate debt collection
Hi all, I'm currently living with two friends in privately owned student accommodation. Myself and one of the girls opened the other girls post after it had been constantly ignored (I know we were in the wrong here), and we found that we will be expecting debt collectors because she has failed to pay her tuition fees. My…

CAPQUEST - Cold call
I had a message on my voicemail earlier this week from Capquest saying they wanted to speak to me. I had to Google them to find out that they are a debt recovery company. This concerned me as I have a job where you need to be financially clean so I went online and got a copy of my credit report from Experian. As I expected…

Hi, I had an outstanding debt with Littlewoods/Shop Direct Financial Services that I was struggling to pay and trying to get reduced, as it had on it nearly £500 of payment protection that I didn't know (and don't think I had) taken out, along with various late payment fees etc. I contacted them numerous times, trying to…

Default removal??
Hi all, will try to keep this shortish! Back in about 2002ish my OH had his work shifts reduced from nights to afternoons, this came with a reduced wage of about 1/3 p/w. At the time we had several credit cards and a loan. We foolishly moved from one to another trying to clear debt but it always increased:mad: This carried…

Where do I start?
These are my debts at the moment. Some I am paying more interest on than others. They are not so out of control now, but I would like to clear them as they cost a lot to furnish. I don't think I'm in a position to consolidate. I'm self employed and my income is limited. I had a personal loan up until it was paid off before…
