Just a post to give myself moral support. Under £30k of debt now - a small step but a nice target to break. Got £450 back today from Barclays for unfair charges so a nice end to the month. Roll on getting under £25K.

Shopping at the weekend - went over budget by £50. then today went to get in the car and had a flat. Finally got tyre quotes down from £160 to £84 at Kwik-fit but they thought they might be bale to repair it for £17.50. However they couldn't in the end so I've got to pay for that tomorrow. It's my wife's birthday this…

 :j  Now going to concentrate on overpaying the mortgage and OH's bank loan. Best wishes to everyone on the footpath to "debt-free-ness". I will post an updated SOA when I have worked it out. All the best Gilly

First day of not drinking
I took the long overdue decision today that the most significant thing I can do to reduce my outgoing was to quit drinking - I probably spend about £30-40 a week on beer and wine. If anyone has got some help and advice to keep me going I would really appreciate it. :rotfl:

This months targets
Well we've hit the end of a month again, I didn't really set targets last month as wasn't having a good time of it and much more on my mind. But I did manage to totally empty the freezer for the first time in 4 months and resisted the temptation to just keep shopping. Looking for inspiration from you guys and girls on…

The best ever SOA?
My friend is in a right fix. I need to show him a really good SOA so that he can undertsand the concept and do one himself. I would like it to be a real one, showing quite good income and the costs of an entire family with children and lots of debt as well as some useful advice. Not too long though. He has the attention…

A big thanks for whoever pushed my post to the dead zone.       Conversation over then. I'd like to make a protest to all DFW's. Urgent - Please Read Before 7pm Tonight
I posted a long thread about my debts and Spectrum Financial Protection a few days ago (see link below). http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=293601 Feeling suspicious about them, I contacted the CCCS to ask if they were aware of them and their business policies. Whilst the CCCS can't advised me on another…

IVA and DMP? Whats the difference
Been on a DMP with payplan for the last 2 years and has gone down from 16k to 13k, so its a slow thing but better than nothing. See these adverts which state they can get the debt repaid in 5 years as they have a loophole which wipes something like 60-70% away, which all sounds great but does that mean in years to come…

IVA debt question
Hi, i was wondering, i'm in the process of starting an IVA with payplan but i'm not sure about the sums i can put down as debt. On their website it says you can include debt for friends and family but when i spoke to the lady that rang me she says the banks wont agree to the IVA if it includes debt from family. I've sort…

Does anyone use www.ebid.co.uk?
Hi all, We all seem to use ebay (and pay their fees!) but does anyone use Ebid? I signed up to it ages ago but never actually listed anything on it. It seems that you can list things for free if you don't mind it not have a photo displayed on the listing page when people do a search (called gallery in ebay I think).…
