IVA debt question

Hi, i was wondering, i'm in the process of starting an IVA with payplan but i'm not sure about the sums i can put down as debt. On their website it says you can include debt for friends and family but when i spoke to the lady that rang me she says the banks wont agree to the IVA if it includes debt from family.
I've sort of fallen out with them and i just need to find a way to pay them back.
Can anyone just confirm if this is the case
