Using "pension" to pay off debts
We've just had a thought. Obviously we will be carrying on living within our means, now that we've seen the error of our ways.... But: my H has some ISAs (share based, not a tracker fund) which he had earmarked to use as income in his retirement in lieu of a pension fund (he's self employed). They have lost £2k of the book…

What did you spend (21/01/06)?
I hope no-one minds me jumping in and starting this one today! I haven't spent a penny again today, something like the third day in a row. However, I may pop out tonight with a friend for a couple of beers, so that'll cost a bit (hopefully less than ten pounds, I'm on a budget). On the otherside, I got my cheque from for a…

Harassment - Always complain it is worthwhile!!
Now i come across lots of cases of people who are having to deal with harassment from creditors. Obviously some people learn to deal with it when offering reduced payments to creditors by just hanging up the phone and no longer allowing it to get on top of them. Though in the early stages when you find yourself struggling,…

What Do You Tell Your Friends?
Hi everyone, The only people who know about my debt is the ever-supportive people on this forum. I am way too ashamed to tell any of my friends or family; it is just unthinkable. :o However, I occasionally get asked about when I intend to buy a property (I am 33 and I rent) and I tend to just say that I am trying to save…
