I am a debt free wanna-bee too, I have made 'some' first few steps and have now found this site and find it very daunting to list my outgoings and in-comings. I really want to sort myself out but it is not easy - I have the incentive to do it but with approx £35,000 of debt I just dont know where to start... can anyone give me some advice on were to start?

Read posts in this part of the forum. You'll see countless newbie posters with big debts who lay their finances open to all. It's very non-judgemental; many on here have been in similar positions. It's really a message of hope. You can sort it with decent help.Happy chappy0

Welcome thunderman.. Just a bit of advice, they dont allow links in your signature.

Hi Thunderman,
Welcome aboard, one thing you'll find on this site is zillions of people willing to share their knowledge/experience(s) in helping you reach your goal of being debt free.
You've made the first step in posting,no one here is gonna judge you yeah it is scary but it's also for me extremely enlightening I've saved in my short time on here nearly a grand by doing sod all really except take a good look at my finances and spending and using all the money saving hints. I've changed my household insurance, my utilites, got half price broadband, ditched stuff I don't really use - DVD rental and gym membership. When you're ready -and it can be very daunting post a list of all your debts and apr's plus out goings. Use Martins budget planner as a template. You'll find the advice you recieve invaluable and just remember you're not alone.

Hello mate.
Have a look at this thread for a guide!
Don't worry, you are not alone! Have a look at my signature for example. There are many more people that owe more than you do!
You won't be judged on here, only helped!0 -

Hi Thunder
Welcome to the Board.
As various people have pointed out though your link is not permitted in the site rules so has been removed. A clever idea though with your blog and ad links.

After posting I did wonder if this was just another one of those threads.Happy chappy0

No it wasnt just another one of those threads. I did not realise that this site did not allow signatures. I dont think that the extent of my £35,000 debt would be cleared on 'click throughs' there is no way! I am just trying to learn as much as possibe in order to get my debt down. It is encouraging that others have had the same sort of level of debt as me (and probably more) you just feel like you are the only one in the situation, when you are in it. So this place is good!
My first purchase today, Martin's book. I am seriously going through it! Thanks for your comments guys!0
