Hi all My contract was up on June 14th. I rang in may giving 30 days notice. They say notice starts at the end of the contract taking it to around July 12th. Hence they get another month from me. Is this correct? Thanks

Credit applications
Hi folks, Recently moved into my own house and I'm now looking for a few things on credit (not a rash decision and has all been worked out). As I waited on my application I didn't want to rock the boat and so was paying interest on my credit card (5k). I called the provider today who basically laughed at me when I asked if…

Credit score and joint account
I am quite new to the big money landing world so pardon me if I say something completely idiotic. I have a joint account with my wife, and I have read that this could influence my credit score. Now my wife doesn't have a bad credit history, in fact she doesn't have any credit history. Never had a credit card (in the UK),…

Rating destroyed by santander
Hi all, Wondering if anyone has had any previous similar experiences? I took out a 0% credit card with santander to pay off some additional costs after buying my house last year. I had set up a standing order for £50 per month to keep in line with minimum payment. Then in may 16 I paid the card off in full. However I…

Centrica multiple searches
I moved my gas and electric to British Gas in January this year. I have had an excellent credit score for a long time. Recently I have had two credit accounts taken away because of a low credit score. I logged into my credit expert account to find that Centrica did SIX credit searches on 9th Jan that have had a negative…

Is this even possible?!
So....I have an account with Experian Credit Expert. I recently went through and updated all of the relevant information, which in turn made my credit score increase by 120 points. My question being, I am now 1 point away from an 'excellent' score. How on earth do I improve it any further just to gain that excellent…

Energy Saving Trust Credit Check
I am hoping to have some energy saving work carried out to my home. A local Authority Grant will cover the majority of the cost but there is a payment of around £2k I will have to make. After jumping through various hoops I managed to get a form for an interest free loan from the Energy Saving Trust. I was rejected for the…

Loan and credit file
Hi I took out a loan with M&S money a couple of months ago. I've checked my credit file via Clearscore and it's showing the loan amount of £11.5k plus all the interest loaded on top too. I have another loan with HSBC and that does not include the interest. Is this just an M&S money thing? I need to apply for a mortgage…

Arrears repaired
Hello, I have had an issue with Barclays about an account which defaulted in 2014. To cut a long story short I have had a complaint resolved the outcome of which was to have the arrears removed from my credit file. I've had a look on Noddle and I can't see any reference to the account at all. Does this sound right?

Moriarty Law CCJ claim received
Hi, I've received a claim form from Moriarty Law for £350 plus costs, for a payday loan from 2012. I might've paid it but i probably didn't. I ignored all their previous letters not expecting that size a debt to be taken to court. What are my recommended next steps? I see some recommendations to get them to 'prove it'. Can…

MSE Credit Club
Help! I am trying to join this and once I get to the Experian bit, I am asked to say who provides one of my credit cards. My credit card provider (a well known building society with banking facilities and a penchant for poetic adverts) is not listed, no matter how many times I refresh the page to get a different selection.…

Settled Default

In particular I was looking to try to move my mortgage to a lower rate as per a post I saw from Martin yesterday. This made me…

Hello! I have been accessing my credit report for last 6 months or so via checkmyfile.com, and I have a Notice of Correction that I put on my report in 2013 explaining two defaults that happened on my account when I was made redundant. Luckily I've managed to improve my credit rating and it's back to a reasonable state.…
