Centrica multiple searches

I moved my gas and electric to British Gas in January this year. I have had an excellent credit score for a long time. Recently I have had two credit accounts taken away because of a low credit score. I logged into my credit expert account to find that Centrica did SIX credit searches on 9th Jan that have had a negative impact on my credit score. there is nothing else affecting my credit rating apart from I did get a finance agreement recently to buy some carpet. Why did Centrica (British Gas I believe) do SIX credit searches and how do I get this rectified so that it accurately reflects my conduct with credit? I'm so cross with them. Also I don't know when this was applied to my account as I have looked at it a couple of times in the last six months and not seen the impact although I did have a recent problem with Credit Expert Systems not allowing me to login for a month so maybe it hadn't been updated? Please advise.

Are they all on the same day? Are some soft searches?

It's unlikely to be an issue. Any impact on your fictional credit score is neither here nor there.

If it bothers you and they are genuine duplicates, you could ask them to tidy them up.

....more importantly, check all three files carefully. If you've had two accounts closed, it sure wasn't because of an invisible credit score or a few utility searches.
