Do loans/credit cards help your rating?
As the title says, do loans/credit cards (and obviously repaying them) help your credit rating? It's something I've heard mixed things about over the years and having just looked at my credit rating, got curious. My credit rating is carp right now and the other month I was offered £50 loan, I didn't need £50 as I was only…

CCJ question
Hi all. I am currently paying off a CCJ. I have been paying it monthly for about 5/6 months. Soon (within the next 6 months) I will have it low enough for me to ring up and pay the outstanding sum. My question is, How will this affect my credit score in the months after I have settled this debt? And more importantly, how…

Does that mean that on the 7th of December this year, that will be removed off my Noodle account and all other credit reference agencies?…

I understand when a bank does a credit check they see the credit available, and credit card spending patterns. Do they also see the APR of these accounts? And if they do, does it help to have a lower APR? Thanks!

Will closing credit cards & current accounts increase or decrease my credit score?
I know people say that credit scores don't really matter, but I'm somebody who follows mine and wants to keep it in check. I'm 20 so I have limited credit history. I wanted a card that I could use abroad at no extra cost, and I was rejected for the Lloyds Avios one I wanted, and the next one suggested to me was the Aqua…

CCJ Reduced settlement offer.
I have a CCJ on an account that I refuse to recognise. Someone took out a mobile contract in my name and ran up a bill. As I worked out of the country for long periods I never knew about the CCJ until a few years later. The CCJ is now obviously affecting my credit. It has been sold to another company who offered a reduced…

Moving products after clearing debts
Over the last 3-4 years, I accumulated about £10k of debt to help fund a startup business and to ease student budget woes. My account choices were focused on paying essentially no interest on this and I secured long interest free deals from Santander and shifted funds around on other accounts. I want to leave Santander…

Aqua Card Default
Hey, Today I have received a letter from Aqua. The letter is to tell me they have issued a default and apologise for not giving me 28 days notice back in 2013 when it was issued. They have asked if I have suffered to any detriment because of this. Am I right in thinking it is illegal for them to issue a default without 28…

Adding this note to my credit file
Hi folks. On my credit report I have a default from back in 2012. Extremely frustrating as it's just for £12.50, and the whole reason is because I asked the company (mobile carrier) to not renew my contract which they accepted, and I then cancelled the direct debit but they seemed to just ignore it and take a new payment…

Is a default on credit files bad for 6 years
As title. Is a default always deemed bad, for the full 6 years it's on your files. Does it have less impact after say 2-3-4years etc providing all other files remain up to date.
