hello.
If I Pay off Defaults in full that are from 2012 (Default date) what increase can i expect on my score?
Also Can I request that with full payment the default mark struck from my credit file?
Thank everyone.

Your score is irrelevant.
Satisfied defaults will look better to lenders than unsatisfied, but it will depend on the lender.
You can request that the default is removed but it is unlikely, as your credit file is meant to represent how you have managed credit.0 -
Hi
Bear in mind that the defaulted account will drop off your credit files completely 6 years after the original default date anyway.

I understand it will drop off but I was with the understanding that they can still give me a CCJ after this.
I've currently had two debts with Lowell fall of credit file and was going to approach them with settlement as I don't what them giving me CCJ's
Am I wrong in thinking that can lodge CCJ's after the debt is off my file?
Kind Regards

They would need to go for a CCJ before the 6 years is up.0

Excellent.
Thank you all so much for your help.
Great to know the only possible CCJ's I could receive are for debt I see on one of my credit files.
Thank you all greatly0 -

Surely that's not true, and would only be if you haven't paid anything or acknowledged the debt in those 6 years0 -
But if the debt was acknowledged it wouldn't fall off the credit files would it not?
I've paid not to them. And if I'd formally accepted the debt it would be on my file 6 years from the date of acknowledgment right?0 -

Yes- you're right. I was hastily assuming no acknowledgement.0 -

debt falls of credit files, paid, unpaid, ignored, or whatever 6 years from default0 -
So it's still possible for them to get a CCJ for the debts?0
