Amex Annual Fee
Hi all, First post on the Credit Card forum. I've done a search and can't find if the question has been asked before. I'm just about to enter the 2nd year of having the Amex Gold Rewards Charge Card and whilst I don't want to pay the £140 fee for the next year I also can't spend or convert the points I've gained so far as…

Closing a credit card, wait 2 months?
I want to close a credit card I've paid off in full using a 0% balance transfer. I know how to do it, but some threads here say to wait 2 months between paying it off and closing the account. Is that necessary, if so, is there a reason for that?

Section 75 - Credit card going back to supplier
I raised a section 75 claim. I have just received a letter saying the the credit card company is contacting the supplier to try and resolve the matter. I have already had many dealings with the supplier and they have not been able to solve the problem. I'd like to move on and wanted to know what my rights are. Do I have to…

Refund to closed credit card account
Hello all, A well known furniture company has to refund us a deposit for some faulty items. They say they will do this by refunding the credit card we paid with but we closed that account two years ago and no longer have any details for it. Can any one tell me if they can still do this despite the account being closed for…

Balance transfer - have I missed something?
Today I applied (via MSE website) for an M&S card so I could transfer balance from another credit card and pay it off at 0% interest. During the process, there were the usual questions about income, addresses etc etc but nothing about my current credit card and how much balance I wanted to transfer. I've now had an email…

Joint credit cards - both viewing account

But does anyone know if any credit card providers allow joint access to the statements of the account online? I have a joint current account and mortgage with my partner, and it would…

Cash transactions on HSBC credit card
I recently took out a HSBC credit card that is 0% for 27 months and 0% on balance transfer if moved within 60 days of opening. I was therefore surprised to see a charge for interest on my first statement. It turns out a purchase I had made online of currency from Travelex is classed as a cash transaction and therefore has…

MBNA is the worst experience ever
Hello everyone, first post here. Sorry if this is the wrong place, or it will not be relevant, but I am just outraged and wanted to complain somewhere. Applied for a MBNA card for a balance transfer roughly two months ago (they had an excellent 0% balance transfer offer for 3 years). Everything went fine, got accepted with…

Halifax CC fraud - your complaint experience?
I apologise in advance that this is a very lengthy post and although I don’t wish this happened to anyone but I hope some of you can share (nicely) some experience on dealing with this issue. When I was logging on to my app to pay off this month’s balance, I noticed not 1 but 5 unauthorised transactions totalling £1,008…

0% cards How many can you have?
I have used 4 credit cards over many years for 0% transfers and have paid them off bar the latest one. The fixed term is up and I will need to move it. The existing cards don't offer you great deals if they already have your custom so I can't really use them again for transfers. Do I ditch the cards I already had so I can…

AQUA 5% cashback christmas offer
Aqua are offering 5% cashback over Christmas 25.11.18 --> 13.1.19 The caveat is you need to spend +£900 in this period to qualify. The other caveat is that there is a max of £50 cashback. £50 is 5% of £1000. So to get the full benefit you need to spend between £900 and £1000 -any extra is wasted -although I'm guessing the…

Buying a new phone with Paypal...
I wanted to buy a Samsung phone. There was a good deal on WowCamera.com However, when I went to pay, it took me to a Paypal screen. My heart sank, as that meant loss of Section 75 protection. If I decide to take the 'risk' and I pay with Paypal. Is it better to log into my Paypal account and pay using the funds there or is…

Hi all, Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I was hoping for some advice on credit card purchases with regard to a second hand car...
