Section 75 - Credit card going back to supplier

I raised a section 75 claim. I have just received a letter saying the the credit card company is contacting the supplier to try and resolve the matter. I have already had many dealings with the supplier and they have not been able to solve the problem. I'd like to move on and wanted to know what my rights are. Do I have to allow the supplier another chance to resolve the problem? Or can I ask the credit card company to resolve this themselves?

Comments

  • The card company is trying to resolve it themselves.

You have the same rights against them as the retailer which means they need to understand the situation.

A bit more info as to what the issue is would be helpful.

The credit card company has a lot more leverage than you but they won't just take your word for whatever the problem is - maybe your expectations are unreasonable
  • As above.

They have a duty to ensure any section 75 claim is valid. They also can pursue the original merchant for a refund if they choose to, otherwise they'd be out of pocket.

I'd be more surprised if they didn't contact the merchant to try and resolve the situation.

Why are you so against them talking to the merchant? These things take time (months) not mere days.
