First time CC query
I have just got a tesco 19 mnth 0% spending CC. I need to pay for some building work - i have the account details of the builder. If i pay for this from the CC online account will it be a 'money transfer' rather than a purchase and therefore be subject to interest? Daft Q, but i've never had a CC before...:o

PPi claim on store card and catalogue
I have recently received two confirmations that I had PPI on a store card and a catalogue. Both have been rejected by the lenders since the original agreements were before 2005. One has gone to the finance ombudsman but has been rejected by them because of the timescale. On both these claims I did not know that PPI was…

Paying for road tax at post office on a credit card
Has anyone here done this? If so, was there a charge for doing so? Just had my reminder through which states that a fee would be added if I paid online with a credit card. After digging around a bit I've found there "may" be a charge if I pay by credit card at a post office. (Surely they must know if there is or not!!)

Halifax 20m 0% purchases for Halifax Clarity holder
Hello I already hold a Halifax Clarity credit card with a quite large credit limit of which I typically use very little each month (the highest spending ever was up to ca. 30% of the limit), as I tend to use it when travelling abroad. I am interested in getting the Halifax 20month 0% purchases card. How could my owndership…

CC DD help
Hi all, first post for me! I'm new to credit, and have been responsibly using and paying off a credit card for six months. 2 months ago I added a second. Both have direct debit agreements for the minimum due amount, neither have ever been drawn on as I've paid in full soon after my statement date. I'm now happy that I've…

Can I use this CC to make purchases on??
Hey MSE'ers. Hope you're all having a good weekend. So on one of my cards, its Halifax 0%, limit of £1000 currently with £110 available on it. Transaction done abroad took 2 months to go on credit card
Unsure if this is the best thread for this. In early July, I went to Rhodes for a week. I used my Santander Zero credit card on a total of seven transactions. Of those seven, three were withdrawing cash from the same ATM. Six of these went onto my account within a couple of days. The final one, an ATM transaction was only…

Credit card protection - buying a used car
Hi, I'm looking for some advice on what kind of protection/refund rights I have after buying a used car on my credit card. I'll give a little background to my situation: I bought the car for around £1400 from a used car dealer on 6/9/14. The car ran fine and appeared to be in good shape. On 11/9/14 an engine fault light…

Hotel bonds on Credit Card

So I'm going to be checking into a hotel next week, and I have found out they will take a £200 bond/deposit/pre-auth etc at the check-in. I'm not too familiar on how these things work,…

Internet banking overpayment
I usually pay my credit card bill via their website. As I was going on holiday & wouldn't be back in time for the payment date I tried to pay on the day I was going away. Got all the way through to the end of the procedure to be told that a technical problem meant my payment couldn't be processed & to try again later. I…
