Credit card authorisation and CCA
I have a technical/legal question regarding the consumer credit act and credit cards. As i understand it, if you make a purchase using your credit card and the goods or services fail to arrive or are not fit for purpose you can pursue the matter with the merchant or the credit card issuer and get your money back. But what…

warning - phishing emails: halifax, amazon card holders
Just had my second phishing email in 3 weeks, purporting to be from an affiliate of amazon credit cards and rang them to report it. They said they've had quite a few customers affected. Don't reply to the mail, don't click on the link in it and report it to them by phone, where they will supply you with the correct email…

Sainsbury Credit Card and Direct Debit
I've set up a DD so that I can pay my Sainsburys Credit Card bill without thinking about it. However I've now received the first statement and they only intend to take the minimum payment rather than the full amount. Have I missed something or is this just a way to get interest on an outstanding bill? How do I get them to…

Theft & credit card protection
Posting on behalf of my poor boyfriend who has an additional card on my M&S account, who had a bag of Xmas shopping stolen whilst out today. Now I'm pretty sure M&S doesn't have any sort of insurance built in for this kind of thing, but for future reference does anyone know any card providers that do? Thanks very much!

Rather annoyed
I popped into a halifax branch last week and whilst there I was asked if I was interested in taking out a 0% credit card which I am. They said there were 2 cards available to me, either 1) 0% on transfers for 15 months and 0% on purchases for 3 months or 2) 0% on transfers and transfers for 6 months. I asked them about a…

My latest credit card statement shows an incorrect Minimum Payment value. It's obviously less than the x% which I should pay. This same incorrect Minimum Payment value is printed clearly, at two different places on the statement. Question: Can I get away with paying this incorrect Minimum Payment? Can the provider claim…

Capital One cashback card
I don't know if this card was around last year but does anyone know when in January they pay the cashback? My payment date is around the 26th and my cashback should clear next month's bill so I'm hoping that they pay it in and I can use it against my bill and have a slightly cheaper January. I assume it can be used to pay…
