Can you give me reassurance with chargeback?

I ordered a computer with my M&S card £380, I`ve had alot from this company however they went bust so no computer.
I started the chargeback, filled in forms etc and went on holiday (great thankyou!)
I phoned M&S last week from holiday to make sure everything was OK and there was nothing we were required to do and they said they had sent a letter on the 4th but not to worry.

Got home today and the letter they had sent said if we don`t hear anything within 10 days we will drop the charge back - how good is that?
Will we have lost the money, I`ve tried the call centre - absolutely no joy and can`t speak with anyone till monday.

  • No you will not have lost your money.
    Despite them sending you the letter it does not relieve them of their obligation under the Consumer credit act.
    Phone them on Monday, explain what's happened and if necessary start again.

    Indeed... call M&S up and say "Sorry I was on holiday when your letter arrived... can you send another for me to sign please!".
